On Google’s 25th birthday, discover how it all started and amazing things you should be aware of.

Once a simple search engine prototype, Google has grown significantly since its inception. In honor of its milestone celebration, here are some intriguing details from its amazing past

On September 27, Google will mark its 25th birthday. Examining the American multinational technology company’s modest origins is worthwhile as it reaches this momentous milestone.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin first met in January 1997 at Stanford University, according to information on Google’s website. When Larry Page was considering Stanford for his studies, Sergey Brin, who was already a Ph.D. candidate at the university, was requested to show him around the campus. This led to the meeting. And so Google’s journey began.

The two started collaborating on the creation of a search engine in their dorm rooms a year later. And they were able to successfully produce their first prototype. As a result of their invention’s growing interest from notable Silicon Valley investors, Sergey Brin and Larry Page officially founded Google Inc. in August 1998 when Andy Bechtolsheim, a co-founder of Sun Microsystems, offered them a $100,000 cheque. The newly established team used this crucial investment to move out of their dorms and into their first office, a garage in the Menlo Park, California, suburbs.Over the next few years, Google saw exponential expansion, which prompted a move to its current Mountain View, California headquarters, also referred to as the “Googleplex.”

Coming for Google

In a blog post earlier this month, Google CEO Sundar Pichai discussed his vision for the company’s future, specifically its potential in artificial intelligence. Entering its next quarter-century, Google will have to compete with rival industry titans in every product category. Google is attempting to take advantage of the largest opportunity in artificial intelligence (AI), where it already ranks highly. For Google to stay at the top, the next 25 years may require even greater impact and innovation.
