Israel claims the Hamas chief who oversaw the attacks on border villages was murdered.

Israeli authorities declared on Tuesday that Israeli fighter planes had killed the Hamas leader who oversaw the fatal attacks in the early hours of the conflict on the border settlements of Kibbutz Erez and Moshav Netiv HaAsara.

The Israel Defence Forces stated in a statement that Nasim Abu Ajina, commander of Hamas’ Beit Lahia Battalion of the Northern Brigade, previously oversaw Hamas’ Aerial Array and assisted the militants in developing drone and paraglider warfare.  “His elimination significantly harms the efforts of the Hamas terrorist organisation to disrupt the IDF’s ground activities,” added the statement.

In a spectacular Hamas raid on October 7, some 20 residents of Netiv HaAsara were slain when terrorists from Hamas rushed through the town on the Gaza border, shooting people, setting homes on fire, and kidnapping people. The militant attack at the kibbutz was thwarted by the security squad; however, one member was lost in the process.

That day saw the deaths of almost 1,300 Israelis, and according to Israeli authorities, the overall number of deaths is now close to 1,400. The Gaza Health Ministry reports that over 8,000 Palestinians have died.

Additionally, the IDF reported that about 300 targets were hit by Israeli combat troops on Monday, including military facilities housed inside Hamas tunnels beneath the surface and anti-tank missiles. According to the IDF, Israeli forces killed terrorists and oversaw airstrikes against targets and terror infrastructure.

According to the U.N. Relief and Works Agency, the approximately 672,000 Palestinians taking sanctuary in 149 U.N. facilities throughout the Gaza Strip are “facing increasingly desperate conditions.”

The UN reports that 3,450 children have died in Gaza.

According to UNICEF Spokesperson James Elder on Tuesday, since the beginning of the conflict, more than 3,450 children have died in the Gaza Strip, and the toll is growing every day. The danger is not limited to Israel’s bombs. He stated that there is an acute water shortage affecting over a million children in Gaza and that the possibility of infant and child fatalities from dehydration is increasing. Furthermore, he stated that communities will bear long-term costs for many generations as a result of the psychological damage Gaza’s youth are experiencing.

Israeli strikes are centred on Gaza City.

Ground operations in Gaza, according to Israeli military spokesman Jonathan Conricus, are concentrated on the north, particularly Gaza City, which he described as the “centre of gravity of Hamas.”

However, we also keep attacking other areas of Gaza. We are pursuing their leaders, we are hitting their facilities, and we launch strikes on any significant Hamas-related target that comes up, he declared.

An advisor to Biden meets with the Saudi Minister of Defence.

As the Biden administration continued to work to prevent the war from getting bigger, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met with Saudi Arabian Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud at the White House on Monday. Both stated that more humanitarian relief for Gaza is desperately needed, according to a White House readout. In addition, they stressed the significance of “building on the work that was already underway between Saudi Arabia and the United States over recent months” in order to achieve a lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians.”

Iran claims to be attempting to free its hostages who are not Israeli.

According to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani, Iran is in negotiations with Hamas to release hostages who are not Israeli nationals and were not participating in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. According to the British website Amwaj.media, Iran has received requests for assistance from numerous nations whose people have been kidnapped in order to facilitate their release. They detained and transported about 240 people to Gaza. Iran has consistently denied any role in the Israeli attack carried out by Hamas.

“We have held discussions with Hamas representatives and obtained encouraging assurances,” Kanani stated, noting that the negotiations have been challenging due to Israel’s “continuous assaults and shelling of Gaza.”

He declared, “Iran will keep up its efforts.”
