According to Hamas, Israeli soldiers currently possess authority over the largest hospital in Gaza.
Al-Shifa, the biggest hospital in Gaza, is allegedly under Israeli military control, according to a statement released by Hamas on Wednesday.
Early on Wednesday, Israeli forces raided the Al-Shifa hospital complex, alleging that Hamas operates from tunnels beneath the expansive complex. Both hospital administrators and the terrorist group have strongly refuted this accusation.
The Hamas government media office stated, “We hold the ‘Israeli’ occupation fully responsible for the lives and safety of medical personnel, the wounded, the sick, premature children, and the displaced.”
Hospital invasion: Hospital physician Khaled Abu Samra stated that they were informed thirty minutes in advance of the Israeli raid on the compound, which started early on Wednesday morning.
We were instructed to avoid the balconies and windows. The armoured vehicles are extremely close to the complex’s entrance, and we can hear them,” he claimed.
Israeli tanks and military vehicles were in the hospital courtyard on Wednesday morning, according to Khader Al Za’anoun, a journalist working there. Using megaphones, he said, Israeli soldiers were asking the hospital’s young men to “raise their hands, come out, and surrender themselves.” He said that the soldiers were in the buildings, and departments were conducting search and interrogation operations with the young men amidst intense and violent gunfire inside the hospital.
The newsrocket is unable to independently confirm Israel’s allegations that Hamas is using the facility as a headquarters.
The IDF had advised hospital managers, patients, and civilians inside to seek shelter “because we intend on conducting our military operation in order to differentiate and distinguish between the civilians and the terrorists,” Israeli army spokesman Peter Lerner said on Wednesday.
