Hezbollah assaults an Israeli military base, and the IDF retaliates, according to officials.

On November 23, Hezbollah terrorists targeted an area near Israel’s border with Lebanon, Jalaa Marey, where smoke was billowing.

The headquarters of an Israeli army unit at the Ein Zeitim military facility, which is close to the northern Israeli town of Safed, was the target of 48 rockets fired, according to the Lebanese militant organisation Hezbollah.

Hezbollah stated in a statement on Thursday that it had also attacked Israeli infantry units in the vicinity of the Israeli town of Shtula and fired a guided missile at Israeli Merkava tanks near Al-Raheb.

Additionally, on Thursday morning, Hezbollah launched nine more attacks against Israeli military installations and soldier gatherings in Ramim, Jal Alalam, Berket Risha, and Al-Manara.

In response to the militant group’s attacks, the Israel Defence Forces claimed to have “intercepted a number of the launches” and subsequently verified that it had attacked Hezbollah infrastructure and rocket launch facilities in Lebanon using fighter jets and helicopters.

The military provided an update on Thursday afternoon, saying that “IDF soldiers struck Hezbollah military infrastructure with the ‘Iron Sting’ weapon system in Lebanon.”

“In addition, an IDF helicopter, a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle), and tanks struck a terrorist cell that launched an anti-tank missile towards the area of Biranit, and the launch post from which the missile was fired.”

Meanwhile, the Lebanese national news agency (NNA) reported that since the start of this round of hostilities on October 8, there had been more Israeli artillery fire and airstrikes on southern Lebanon on Wednesday afternoon and during the nighttime hours.

Israeli artillery opened fire on multiple border villages early on Thursday, according to a report from the NNA.

One of the main sources of world anxiety that the confrontation between Israel and Hamas could turn into a wider conflict in the Middle East is Hezbollah, the formidable paramilitary organisation supported by Iran.

Although the group’s leadership has not yet taken direct action on behalf of Hamas, they have voiced solidarity for Palestinians and denounced Israel’s offensive in Gaza.

However, since Hamas commenced its terror assaults in Israel on October 7, there have been more skirmishes near the border between Israel and Lebanon. The crossfire is getting deadlier and deadlier.
