Sigma has officially introduced the Sigma BF, a full-frame mirrorless camera designed with a minimalist philosophy, stripping away unnecessary complexities while delivering high-end imaging capabilities. This innovative approach aims to provide photographers with an intuitive and streamlined shooting experience.
Sleek Design and Key Features
The Sigma BF boasts a unibody aluminum construction, crafted from a single block of aluminum over a meticulous seven-hour machining process. This enhances the camera’s durability while ensuring a balanced feel when paired with L-Mount lenses.
Keeping controls to a bare minimum, the BF features just one dial and three haptic feedback buttons. Additional settings can be accessed via an intuitive touchscreen interface. Instead of a traditional mode dial, users gain direct control over shutter speed, aperture, ISO, exposure compensation, and color modes. The live view display presents only essential shooting information, while a secondary status monitor highlights active settings.
Powerful Imaging and Video Performance
At its heart, the Sigma BF houses a 24.6MP full-frame back-illuminated CMOS sensor, engineered to capture high-resolution images with wide dynamic range. The hybrid autofocus system leverages image-plane phase detection and contrast detection, offering precise subject tracking for humans and animals.
For videographers, the BF supports 6K video recording and L-Log support, ensuring high-resolution footage with impressive dynamic range. Unlike conventional cameras that rely on external storage, the BF integrates 230GB of internal storage, capable of holding 14,000+ JPEGs, 4,300 uncompressed RAW images, or up to 2.5 hours of high-quality video.
