The president of Indonesia has pushed for a truce in the fighting and urged the US to take further action to put an end to the “atrocities” occurring in Gaza.
During a Monday meeting with President Joe Biden in the Oval Office, Indonesian President Joko Widodo expressed the country’s intention for their partnership to contribute to regional and worldwide peace and development. “We urge the US to take further action to put an end to the crimes in Gaza,” Widodo added. “For the sake of mankind, a ceasefire is imperative.
The US president highlighted the actions the two nations have taken to elevate our relationship to the highest degree of cooperation, but he did not address Widodo’s remarks regarding Gaza.
In order to usher in a new era of relations between the United States and Indonesia that will impact everything, Biden referred to it as a comprehensive strategic partnership.
The US president mentioned recent initiatives to increase military cooperation, especially in the marine domain, as well as initiatives to combat climate change and create a more secure supply chain.

He would bring to Biden the conclusions of the Riyadh conference, wherein world leaders denounced Israel, before his arrival in the United States in Jakarta.
According to Reuters, Widodo previously stated that I would be delegated to tell President Joe Biden that the Hamas-Israel war should be stopped immediately.
