Jones was born on January 19, 2001, in Nassau, Bahamas. He attended Orlando Christian Prep in Orlando, Florida, and Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

As a senior at Brewster Academy, Jones averaged 18.2 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game. He was named to the All-New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) first team.
